  • Tooth extraction (impacted tooth)
  • Root apex resection (removal);
  • Sinus lift surgery: a closed or open manner;
  • Bone grafting operations: The selection of allogeneic (patient’s bone) or xenogeneic (natural, bio-mineralized bone);
  • Lips, tongue frenectomy.

Don’t dental implants affect the adjacent teeth?

Dental implant – a small titanium screw serving as the root of the lost tooth on which it is possible to put non-removable or removable prosthetic dentures. Dental implants help to restore lost teeth without polishing and without burdening neighbouring teeth. Dental implant helps, even in cases when all the teeth are lost.

For what should be ready those who decided to have implanted teeth?

Dental Implantation consists of several stages:

1. Consultation

During the consultation, the doctor evaluates the overall mouth, jaw bone conditions. He also includes a treatment plan goals – decides how many, and what and in what areas the implants are needed, what structural components can be used. During the consultation, the doctor discusses with the patient the pros and cons of implantation and alternative treatment options.

2. Surgical stage

Implantation of one implant surgery takes only 30 minutes. If at the same time more implants are being implanted or jointly performed additional procedures, the operation takes longer – 1-2 hours. Typically, surgery goes under local aesthetic. However, according to the patient’s request, or in the longer-term procedures, and an intravenous aesthetic (sedation) can be given. During it the patient is more relaxed, experiences less fear.

After surgery, the patient must follow a regime – for some time to keep in one’s mouth sterile dressings, not to eat, avoid physical exertion, cold, heat exhaustion, use of antibiotics prescribed by a doctor, and if necessary, take medication for pain. After the procedure there could be swelling. Them the patient should put something cold onto it. After a day or two after the operation the patient should see a doctor for examination. Is the patient runs high or has big swelling, or feels severe pain, or the operated area is numb or the patient has some other issues to solve, he needs urgently to contact his dentist.

Sutures are removed after 7-10 days. Then we have to wait for bone to grow successfully all around implant and lock itself in the jaw. Waiting can take up to half a year. Only after successful growth of the bone all around the implant one can start the other stage – Prosthesis.

3. Prosthesis stage

Prosthesis on the implants, most often in the area of the front teeth is a real challenge for the dentist. The specialist must not only achieve good function of prosthesis but also a perfect aesthetical result. The specialists of Ozo aesthetic dentistry and implantation clinic started implantation in 2004. The specialists of the clinic continuously develop their knowledge and skills abroad.

When the sinus lift surgery is inevitable?

After the loss of molar teeth of the upper jaw sinuses are also affected. They go down, and consequently decrease the height of the bone. In the beginning it is still sufficient for implant placement, but over the time it can decrease. Then sinus lift surgery is inevitable. Painless, lasting about half an hour, sinus lift surgery helps to provide a safe place for implants.

OZO Aesthetic Dentistry and Implantology Clinic conducts a closed and an open sinus lift surgeries. Paying attention to a specific clinical case, which is described by the amount of remaining bone, professional oral surgeons select the safest and most efficient operation methodology.

What is the difference between the delayed and immediate placement of implants?

During implantation, a cross-sectional implant is screwed directly into the freshly removed tooth alveolus, and thatswhy immediate implantation is often referred to as “rapid implantation” .Choosing   an immediate implantation treatment time is shortened for several months. In such cases prosthesis on the implant is done after about 3-6 months, when the implant takes roots in the bone.

However, the placement of immediate implants is not always possible. Sometimes because of the patient’s health, oral cavity, gums and jaw implantation must be postponed for several months after tooth extraction.

Wanting to enjoy a beautiful smile quickly and efficiently, we offer immediate prosthesis on the tooth. For procedure are used the latest advanced technologies. Choosing immediate prosthesis implantation, all procedures – tooth extraction, implant surgery and immediate prosthesis on the implant are performed in one visit.

Why must the impacted teeth be removed?

Impacted teeth – are fully formed teeth, which, for various reasons did not spring up. Usually impacted are canines and eighth – mental teeth.

Human Anatomy changes. Modern human jaw is no longer as big as it was in the past, so all mental teeth do not fit into them. So dentists recommend removing them. The uncut teeth, remaining under the gums can cause pain, infection, compression of adjacent teeth or injury.

Impacted, not removed teeth can lead to much more serious health problems. The bag surrounding the impacted tooth can become to be filled with fluid and turn into a cyst. If untreated, the cyst can not only curve the jaw and damage on nearby teeth and nerves, but also develop into a tumour.

We must remove and partly impacted teeth, it is crooked teeth and only partially erupted teeth through the gums. The earlier you decide to remove impacted teeth, the operation will be easier and complications less common.

When is tooth root apex resection applied?

Root apex resection is required when otherwise it is impossible to reach an infected tooth root apex. During surgical procedure the infected spots are cleared of infection, infected part of the apex gets removed and the root of the tooth filled.Tooth root resection procedure prevents the development of infection and helps to save the tooth and its functionality.

What are the main symptoms of the inflammation of the tooth apex?

Often, patients do not feel a chronic inflammation of the tooth root apex. They turn to professionals, when inflammation becomes acute and the pain becomes unbearable. Bleeding, swelling also point to the potential tooth root apex inflammation.

Is it possible to cure by other means inflammation of the tooth apex?

There are a number of dental root resection alternatives. It is possible to re-apply the tooth root treatment, root out the infected tooth or to treat pain with antibiotics.

When there is the need for bone augmentation procedure?

The loss of teeth atrophies upper and lower jaws.  After some time the bone atrophies and it is no longer enough to implant the tooth’s implant. Then the bone augmentation procedure is needed.

During bone augmentation procedure, the patient’s own bone extensions (allergenic) or an artificial bone substitute (xenogeneic), is grown where it is lacking. The operation can be performed in any place of the jaw. 4-6 months after surgery, bone augmentation naturalizes and then dental implantation can be performed. Its success depends directly on the jaw bone, located around the implant.

Bone grafting can help in the treatment of periodontal bone diseases. The changed damaged tissue helps to protect adjacent teeth and provides them with better support.

In OZO Aesthetic Dentistry and Implantology Clinic experts boldly take even the most complex bone augmentation surgeries.

Why is the lips and tongue frenectomy needed?

The ability to correctly pronounce the sounds depends on the tongue-leash length and shape. The normal leash is long enough and does not interfere to put out the tongue or to lift the end of the tongue and to touch the palate.

Short leash interferes with proper speaking, and for the baby – proper feeding. Because of the short leash tongue there develops a gap between the lower front teeth.

Short lip leash is noticeable when milk teeth start growing. Because the short lip leash there develops a gap between the upper front teeth.

Typically, lips and tongue frenectomy procedure is not painful, not difficult, and lasts for a short period – till half an hour. However, sometimes more complex tissue plasticity is needed. They can be performed only by highly experienced professional oral surgeons
